Scholarship Details: Entry Period: The $10,000.00 #FlyToSuccess Stratus Financial Scholarship (the "Scholarship") begins at 8:00:00 AM Pacific Time ("PT") on Monday, December 2, 2024, and ends at 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time (“PT”) on Friday, June 20, 2025. The official Scholarship announcement will be made Friday, July 25, 2025, at Airventure OshKosh 2024. The $10,000.00 scholarship will be paid directly to the flight school of the winner’s choice in the US or Puerto Rico. The Scholarship is only open to legal residents of the United States and Puerto Rico age 17 or older.
The Foundation was founded in memory of LeRoy Homer, First Officer of United Airlines #93 when it crashed in Shanksville, PA on September 11th, 2001. The mission of The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation is to encourage and support young adults who wish to pursue careers as professional pilots. In addition, The Foundation promotes awareness about aviation careers to disadvantaged youth.
Each year Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships are usually awarded to qualified members for five different scholarship types, including two specialized scholarships: an Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship and an International Scholarship for pilots in developing countries. In addition, the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund (AEMSF) provides Research Scholarship Grants and, for Student Pilot members, the First Wings Awards. 99s members and other individuals have donated to the Fund through their estate bequests, individual gifts, and the Perpetual Scholarship program. Since 1941, the AEMSF has awarded over 800 scholarships plus more than 300 awards to student pilots working toward their first certificate. The amount awarded for these scholarships, including Research Scholar Grants and Fly Now/First Wings Awards exceeds $12 Million. The AEMSF's investment account is currently valued at over $6 Million.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
The applicant must be a child of a medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased pilot member of the Air Line Pilots Association.
AWARDS
One 4-year undergraduate college scholarship is awarded each year. The total monetary value is $60,000 with $15,000 disbursed annually to the recipient for four consecutive years, provided that adequate academic standing is maintained (3.0 GPA).
Although the program envisions selection of a student enrolling as a college freshman, eligible individuals who are already enrolled in college may also apply. The student must be enrolled in a program of studies principally creditable toward a baccalaureate degree.
The Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) and Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated™ (TAI) are two legal entities that are uniquely bound to the central goal of preserving the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen while providing educational services that honor the history of their service. The mission of TASF is to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by providing motivation, access and scholarships to assist financially and academically deserving students in the pursuit of careers in aviation, aerospace, STEM as well as other disciplines. TASF is located in Los Angeles and serves as the national scholarship organization with Tuskegee Airmen, Inc (TAI).
This fund is created in memory of Captain Jason Dahl with respect toward all victims of the events of 9/11/2001. It supports future generations of pilots, young people yearning to fly, through the award of Aviation Scholarships annually.
Flying Musicians team with music directors and flight instructors to offer a scholarship to Learn to Fly. Are you a high school music student? Do you want to learn to fly? Have your music director/teacher nominates you for the FMA Solo program. In cooperation with FMA’s corporate members and sponsors nationwide, this program will assist juniors and seniors in high school who have been nominated by their music director/teacher.
Duke was a member of the class of 2022 at the United States Naval Academy where he was pursuing a degree in quantitative economics. He passed away on February 8, 2020 at the United States Naval Academy and was buried with full military honors
Duke’s dream was to become a naval aviator and a professional pilot. Although he was unable to achieve that goal, the foundation is committed to helping others achieve their aviation goals in his place. The Duke Carrillo Foundation began offering Fly For Duke aviation scholarships beginning in 2024 to aspiring aviators who are between the ages of 17 and 24 to earn a private pilot’s license. In addition to financial assistance, the scholarship will include mentoring to support and guide the recipients as they go through training.
To help support our future aerospace professionals, the AIAA Foundation provides scholarships and graduate awards annually to undergraduate and graduate students in science or engineering programs. In the past 20 years, the AIAA Foundation has provided over 1,300 scholarships and graduate awards to students at more than 150 colleges and universities worldwide.
